Canadian Immigration has announced 2000 additional spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program!!!
The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, just delivered a statement regarding his commitment to allocate an additional 2000 spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program.
For those who are unaware of what the program is, it allows another avenue in which individuals are eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada, besides the federal express entry process.
But why add 2000 more spaces? The Minister has stated that by expanding the spaces available under the Provincial Nominee Program’s it allows for greater expansion for temporary foreign worker pathways. This would in turn ‘strengthen Canada’s economy and contribute to the growth of middle class jobs.’ There will also be more opportunities for temporary foreign workers currently working at the intermediate level (such as NOC C) to transition to permanent residency
Overall, this is an exciting new development that showcases the Minister’s mandate and commitment to further developing pathways to permanent residency for eligible applicants. It essentially means more opportunities for workers who are already well established in Canada, to be able to fully contribute to Canadian society
The Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship: ‘Temporary foreign workers fill long term labor market needs and contribute to the growth of our economy. We recognize the need to provide opportunities for them to transition to permanent residence – and these additional spaces under the Provincial Nominee Program will do just that.
