National Call for Proposals for Newcomer Programming launched by IRCC

Canada is looking forward to join hands with Settlement and Resettlement service providers to maximize the support services for newcomers in the country.  IRCC is endeavoring to invest approximately CAD$778 million in 2019-20 to support the newcomers and their settlement in all provinces of the country (except Quebec).

IRCC is issuing a call for proposals (CFP) for the Settlement and Resettlement Assistance Programs for newcomers for up to 5 years. This aims at improving the competence and value of settlement and integration services for the newcomers to Canada. It will also help focus on the vulnerable sector of newcomer population such as youth, refugees and LGBTQ2+.

The Settlement and Resettlement programs are vital to help newcomers obtain the information they need about life in Canada, finding a job, connecting with the community, language training if required and  to guide them to a successful life.

On February 18, 2019, Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship quoted:

The supports and services delivered to newcomers through IRCC’s programs are world class and help to make Canada a recognized international leader in settlement and integration.”
